The Desktop Technician provides support in the areas of end-user support requests, onboarding, offboarding, asset management, printer management, and networking within the Information Technology department. Is a self-starter who can be the sole point of contact for a remote office, but also participate in a strong IT team environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

End-User Support:

  • Quickly and efficiently resolve requests for various issues
  • OS/Software/Hardware support (Windows 10, Office 365)
  • User and asset management through Active Directory, Azure and Intune
  • MS Exchange/O365 Administration
  • Desk and Mobile phone support
  • Handle licensing and purchase requests as needs arise
  • Printer and scanner installations and management
  • VoIP support
  • Assist with physical office moves and end-user setups
  • Strong troubleshooting skills a must
  • Self-starter with a strong drive to be a part of a team
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • “White Glove” support for high-profile users
  • Visits to multiple offices in the area to resolve on-site issues
  • Ability to travel when needed
     

Onboarding:
  • Determine equipment and licensing needs for all incoming employees.
  • Create POs, tickets, tasks, etc. to communicate equipment purchasing and/or licensing needs once approval received.
  • Administer, create, and manage Active Directory, Office 365
  • Ability to maintain accurate asset inventory
     

Offboarding:
  • Disable all user access (email, licensing, software, fob, etc.) and collect equipment.
  • Back up all data, clean up computer, and update assets.
     

Asset Management:
  • Track computer inventory.
  • Receive and deploy new computer equipment
  • Produce asset reports for each location and entity
  • Smartly reuse equipment where available
     

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The Ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent degree from an accredited university or trade school
  • 2-5 years of work experience providing departmental technical support (Level 1)
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Technical writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications and mobile apps
  • Experience in various technology solutions (software, hardware, subscriptions)
  • A+, Network+, or MS certification preferred
