Data Warehouse Architect
Job Description
Data Warehouse Architect- Direct Hire; 100% onsite (Dallas TX)
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Data Warehouse Architect Role involves strategically designing and implementing data warehouses, data marts, and data stores as well as requisite ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and visualization (reporting) development while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for collaborating to define enterprise data standards and models for warehouse architectures. The Data Warehouse Architect will also evaluate and provide input on infrastructure components such as software, hardware, database management systems, and networking capabilities. The individual is expected to have expertise in the underlying technology and function effectively at collaboratively defining business solutions and technology policies, while remaining hands-on within the technology environment. This position will office in the client's Dallas, Texas corporate office, and report to the SVP, Technology Business Solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning
· Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for data warehousing in conjunction with IT architect(s), data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
· Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
· Plan and implement capacity and resource expansion to ensure data warehouse scalability.
· Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets.
Acquisition & Deployment
· Conduct research and make recommendations on data warehouse products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
· Evaluate, recommend, and select data warehouse components, including hardware, database management systems, ETL (extract, transform, load) software, data mining tools, and meta data management tools.
Operational Management
· Oversee data collection and master data and database(s).
· Work with end users to identify, create, and deliver reports according to requirements.
· Create models for new data warehouse development and/or changes to existing data stores.
· Create and support relevant supporting ETL layer needed for enterprise data warehouse platform.
· Design and manage data warehouse improvement and growth projects.
· Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data warehouses and leverage solutions to ensure data standards.
· Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity.
· Diagnose and resolve data warehouse access and performance issues.
· Install and configure relevant components to ensure data warehouse access.
· Execute data warehouse configuration and performance tuning.
· Monitor system details within the data warehouse, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
· Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data systems.
Support Operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2/3 domain system issues or malfunctions.
• Coordinate Tier 3 escalations to relevant vendor.
• Analyze the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Work with the SVP Technology Business Solutions and BSMs to ensure the successful delivery of key strategic projects.
Manage Projects
• Plan and Manage SharePoint and Teams project schedules, resources, budgets, and manage stakeholder expectations, providing timely communications and reporting.

· Business functional projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge & Experience
· Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting multi-terabyte data warehouses.
· Experience with database platforms, including SQL Server and/or Azure.
· Experience developing analytics within Power BI.
· Experience transforming data via ETL concepts.
· Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
· Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
· Knowledge of Windows operating system, as well as Power BI, and Office 365 including diagnostic tools preferred.
· Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
· Proven project management (Waterfall + Agile) experience.
· Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Formal Education & Certification
· College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
· Certifications in architecture frameworks such as Zachman or TOGAF is a plus.
· Certifications in Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.
· Experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Industry is a plus.
