HR Business Partner
Job Description
The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner III provides consultative support on workforce issues that impact business objectives, identifying project/partnership opportunities to build a world class employee centric culture. This position must understand the day-to-day operations of the assigned business units, including the standard business acumen and serves as innovator, change agent, and conflict resolution mediator to support the effectiveness of departments within assigned groups. The Business Partner III, in collaboration with the Manager, acts as the point of contact for highly complex cases.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Works autonomously within established procedures and practices. Provides input on the development of department procedures and policies.
• Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.
• Leads projects and is accountable for ongoing objectives.
• Provides consultative guidance and coaching to managers and employees on human resources related
matters, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, goals, and objectives. Escalates highly complex cases to the Manager.
• Serves as a workforce culture champion, promoting a positive work environment and employee experience through activities such as employee recognition, education, and coaching.
• Partners with leaders to support the employee engagement strategy and facilitates focus groups to improve team member engagement for assigned customer groups.
• Assists with developing and executing strategies in collaboration with the Human Resources team and operational leadership to support business strategy and objectives for customer group.
• Participates in customer group department meetings and rounding. Constantly focusing on continuous improvement and achievement of business outcomes.
• Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources when needed and partners with HR team members to manage complex workforce issues.
• Interprets JPS policy and procedures for employees and leaders and provides advice relating to possible consequences for employment and/or disciplinary actions.
• Collaborates with other HR Business Partners to ensure consistency in policy interpretation and organization practices.
• Initiates action plans for investigations as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains Joint Commission and other regulatory readiness for assigned work groups including file audits as needed.
• Assists with reviewing survey results and partners with leaders to build and administer action plans in response to trends in employee engagement, turnover and knowledge of customer group culture.
• Assists with the preparation of Human Resources reports.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field of study.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of principles, practices, and functions of effective human resource management to
include applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Knowledge of ethics laws, standards, and emerging trends that may affect organizational
behaviors and practice.
• Knowledge of regulatory readiness.
• Knowledge of relevant HR technology systems in the workplace.
• Skill in diplomacy, negotiation, and facilitation.
• Skill in problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Skill and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Utilizes excellent ability to lead, delegate, organize and manage time, to aid in supervising the daily activities of the staff, ensuring department operations are running at optimal levels.
• Ability to be culturally sensitive and relate well and effectively in a diverse workplace.
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive/professional relationship with team members, patients, and visitors while maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to present a professional image in conduct, attitude, and appearance.
• Ability to respond quickly to time-sensitive issues.
• Ability to work calmly and compassionately with patients, families, staff, providers, and visitors who may be emotionally distraught, angry or upset.
