Hybrid in Jersey City, NJ; Seeking industry experience in stockbroking, capital markets, financial or banking. 

Our Financial Services client in Jersey City is looking for an Events & Business Development Manager.  This position will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and managing all aspects of the company’s events and corporate functions, and carry out business development initiatives.
 
Job Requirements
  • Event Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand event objectives, goals and themes. Develop comprehensive event plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Venue Selection: Research, evaluate, and select suitable event venues based on event requirements, budget, and location preferences.
  • Vendor Management: Identify and liaise with vendors, including caterers, decorators, audiovisual teams, and others. Negotiate contracts and oversee vendor performance.
  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate event logistics, including transportation, equipment setup, signage, and materials preparation.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Work closely with the cross-functional marketing team members to promote events through various channels, such as social media, email marketing, and invitations.
  • Attendee Management: Manage guest lists, registrations, and RSVPs. Ensure a smooth check-in and registration process on the day of the event.
  • On-Site Coordination: Oversee event execution, ensuring all aspects run smoothly. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the event.
  • Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event. Gather feedback and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage event budgets, ensuring expenses stay within allocated limits.
  • Compliance and Legal: Ensure all events comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and team members.
  • Market Analysis: Analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Strategy Development: Creating and implementing strategies to expand the company's presence in the market.
  • Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with potential and existing clients, understanding their needs, and proposing suitable solutions.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation: Meeting sales targets, negotiating contracts, and generating revenue streams.
  • Partnership Building: Identifying and collaborating with key partners, distributors, and stakeholders in the market.
  • Networking and Representation: Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to increase visibility and opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product development, and operations to align strategies and achieve business goals.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Providing regular reports on market performance, sales projections, and business development activities.
 Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, events management, business or equivalent.
  • At least 2-5 years of working experience in the related field. Preferred candidates with solid industry experience in stockbroking, capital markets, TMT, financial & banking sector or equivalent.
  • Experience in project management with a track record of successful events.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Independent and able to contribute as a team player. Ability to lead a large team and delegate tasks effectively, meticulous attention to detail, expert time management skills, self-motivated.
