Our Buffalo, NY printing firm is seeking an experienced Press Operator to join their production team. In this role, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality labels and packaging that meet customer specifications. You’ll be responsible for print quality, color consistency, press efficiency, and safety throughout each production run.

Our Buffalo, NY printing firm is seeking an experienced Press Operator to join their production team. In this role, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality labels and packaging that meet customer specifications. You’ll be responsible for print quality, color consistency, press efficiency, and safety throughout each production run.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate flexographic printing presses according to job orders and specifications.
- Review job jackets and prepare materials for production runs.
- Run sample prints and make adjustments for registration, color, and print quality.
- Maintain ink consistency, color accuracy, and die-cutting pressure.
- Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of materials per Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet productivity and quality goals.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement in efficiency and waste reduction.
- Train or assist new operators as needed.
- Keep press area clean, organized, and safe.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience operating printing presses (flexographic preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of press setup, color theory, and quality control.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and production documentation.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, ERP familiarity).
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
