Lead Data Engineer
Bravotech a Leader in IT Staff Augmentation and Perm Placement seeks a talented Lead Data Engineer for a premier client in Irving, Texas.

This leader will work on the technical implementation of enterprise database strategies through analysis, design, coding, and testing of data-related processes. Performs duties associated with data stewardship, data security, data integration, and data standards. Serves as technical leadership for development teams regarding data-related activities and provide assistance to operational DBA team for problem resolution and performance tuning activities.

  • Work closely with data scientists, architects, and other stakeholders to develop technical and business requirements.

  • Designs and develops data models for internal operational databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.

  • Architect and develop complex data models and data pipelines in Azure ETL technologies.

  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.

  • Leads creation and enforcement of database development standards.

  • Leverage Azure for advanced analytical solutions and data warehousing.

  • Collaborate with development teams and end-users throughout the development life-cycle in the creation or enhancement of database applications and interfaces.

  • Develops code for new functionality, enhancements, and maintenance.

  • Assists the development staff with the debugging and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures and performs code reviews for database-related objects.

  • Assist operations staff with database-related source control and release management processes.

  • Develops optimal data integration strategies with internal applications and external file feeds.

  • Develop, tune, and maintain ETL processes.

  • Assists database administrator to monitor & optimize performance, produce metrics, and plan for disaster recovery.

  • Assists database administrator in researching and evaluating database-related software, hardware components, and upgrades.

  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry best practices.

  • Create custom software components and analytics applications.

  • Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.

  • Proactively plan and implement database strategies.

  • Train and mentor junior data engineers and team members.

  • Performs DBA tasks within the development environments.

  • Provides support for production systems.

 

  • Minimum of 8 years SQL Server Database development and experience in data engineering, specifically with Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, etc.).

  • Minimum of 8 years Structured Query Language (SQL).

  • Minimum of 5 years each in Data Warehouse development.

  • Minimum of 2 years in Power BI development.

  • Minimum of 3 years in SQL Server Integration Services development.

  • Minimum of 2 years in SQL Server Reporting Services development.

  • Minimum of 2 years in Azure Data Engineering Stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, etc.)

  • .NET development using C# (Preferred).

  • Database Administration Experience (Preferred).

  • SQL Server Analysis Services development (Preferred).

  • Expert in SQL, Python, or other data-oriented languages.

  • Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and architecture.

  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools.

  • Knowledge of data privacy and protection regulations and best practices.

Microsoft Database Certification(s) preferred; e.g. MCDBA, MCTS, MCITP.
US Citizen or Green Card
Irving, Texas (Hybrid) -2 to 3 days a week
Ability to pass criminal background and drug screen  ?
