Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute cybersecurity operations related to security monitoring, logging, and telemetry with a focus on medium to high complexity problems.
Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for security telemetry using tools such as Cribl, Elastic, and Corelight, ensuring high data quality, performance, and reliability.
Administer and engineer enterprise Elastic environments, including ingestion pipelines, index management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Support and enhance Network Detection and Response (NDR) deployments, including sensor management, data validation, and integration with downstream analytics platforms.
Lead troubleshooting efforts across data ingestion, transport, parsing, and storage layers, resolving complex issues efficiently.
Manage platform lifecycle activities such as upgrades, capacity planning, scaling, and configuration management to ensure operational resilience.
Drive onboarding of new applications and infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure data integrity.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational best practices to enhance platform reliability and efficiency.
Provide operational support during security incidents and maintenance windows, serving as a technical escalation resource.
Mentor mid-level engineers, review configurations and changes, and promote adherence to security standards and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-level logging, monitoring, or security telemetry platforms.
Deep expertise with Cribl, including pipeline design, transformations, troubleshooting, and operational support.
Proven experience administering and optimizing Elastic Stack environments—ingestion architecture, index management, performance tuning, and reliability.
Strong background in supporting network telemetry or NDR technologies such as Corelight or equivalent tools.
Advanced Linux and Windows system administration skills.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar for automation and tooling.
Experience operating in large-scale, cloud, hybrid, or distributed environments with complex security monitoring needs.
Strong understanding of observability principles, security telemetry concepts, and data health metrics like throughput, latency, and retention.
